The golf course
Golf course âDe Texelseâ is a unique golf course situated in the dunes with bodies of water and large greens. For the rookie golfer there is an ideal par-3-course, more experienced golfers can try their luck at the par-72-course with challenging obstacles. You will be playing in fresh sea air, when nightfall comes you will experience a beautiful sunset. Among gold connaisseurs, golf course De Texelse will recall memories of authentic English and Scottish courses: the so-called âlinks coursesâ. These world famouses courses are renowned for their situation in the dunes. De Texelse has the rough character of a true dune courses of which only few exist. With the right wind direction you will be able to hear the sea howling.

As a visitor of the bungalow you get a 30% discount on the green fee by showing your keys. You can reserve a starting time online and walk or ride your bike to the course. There are mornings reserved for seniors and tournament are organised on a frequent basis. The backyard has a lovely view over hole 5, so now and then you will hear a golfer. In between the backyard and the golfcourse there is a small body of water.

Tourism on Texel
Most people go to Texel to visit the beach, fortunately you can find the beach only 2Km from the bungalow. De other surrounding nature is stunning as well, also within 2Km you can find âDe Slufterâ, a breeding area for birds which is also beautiful during winter. Other than that you can enjoy a great bicycle ride and across the entire island, a walk to the lighthouse from the bungalow is done in an instant. At the beach pavilion you have a wonderful view over the beach and North sea and the Dutch inland sea. This is also the point from where âDe Vriendschapâ departs, a ferry with which you can visit nearby Vlieland for a day.
Some fun family activities on the island are Ecomare, the beermuseum, the aviation- and war museum, de Zelfpluktuin en the port of Oudeschild where you can enjoy some great fish. Oudeschild is also the place where you can catch a boat to go seal spotting. There are 7 cute little towns on Texel, Den Burg is the biggest and place to go shopping , every week there is an open air market here. One of the nicest towns is Oosterend, here you can also find and excellent butcher called slagerij Maas. Here you can often also find several expositions and galleries with remarkable works of art. For the best beach and nightlife you should visit De Koog.
The Krim
The De Krim holiday park is located in the north of the island, in front of the village of De Cocksdorp. It is a 5 star holiday park, with many facilities for young and old. There is an indoor swimming pool with several slides, whirlpool and solariums, and a heated outdoor swimming pool. There is also a professional Crimean recreation team, a kidsâ club, a hairdresser and a launderette. In the morning you can get fresh bread rolls or enjoy the breakfast service, later during the day you can visit one of the 3 restaurants.
Bicycle, go-kart, child seats and handcart rental is available on site. For the children there is a game point, slot race track and a real play ship. Central to the park is a huge wooden climbing park and a laser tag hall. There is also a mini golf course, petting zoo with riding school, 4 bowling alleys, table tennis and a tennis court. Films are regularly shown in the cinema and theater or music evenings are organized.
